People are inherently inclined to fantasize, invent, and transform. Each individual aspires to engage in work that provides a sense of purpose—whether it’s crafting a remarkable novel, making groundbreaking discoveries, fostering resilient communities, or caring for the unwell. The desire to connect with the essence of our work resides with all of us. Unfortunately, in the present, a significant portion of our time is often consumed by mundane tasks that deplete our time, creativity, and energy. To rediscover the intrinsic value of our work, we don’t merely require an improved approach to the same tasks; we necessitate an entirely novel way of working.

Today, we’d like to talk to you about Microsoft Copilot—your collaborative partner in work. By harnessing the potency of next-generation AI, it seamlessly integrates large language models (LLMs) with your data in the Microsoft Graph and Microsoft 365 apps, transforming your content into the most formidable productivity tool available.

What is Microsoft Copilot?

In this new era of AI, technology fundamentally alters our connections with the tools we use every day. The convergence of chat bots and advanced language models allows us to communicate our needs in human linguistics, and the technology is smart enough to respond, produce, or take action. Microsoft has conceptualized this intersection of human and tech, envisioning the partnership as having a co-pilot to assist in navigating any task. The company has integrated AI-powered co-pilots into its most popular products, enriching coding effectiveness with GitHub, transforming workplace output with Microsoft 365, reshaping search with Bing and Edge, and delivering relative value across your apps and PC with Windows.

Now, Microsoft takes the next stride by consolidating these capabilities into a unified experience known as Microsoft Copilot, your everyday AI partner. Copilot will uniquely incorporate your web context, work data, and existing PC activities to offer more effective assistance, all while prioritizing your security and privacy. This experience will be straightforward and seamless, accessible in Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and through Microsoft’s web browser with Bing and Edge. Over time, Microsoft will continually enhance Copilot by adding capabilities and connections to its most-used applications, aligning with its vision for a unified experience across your entire life.

Copilot seamlessly integrates into Microsoft 365 through two avenues. Firstly, it collaborates with you within the Microsoft 365 apps that are part of your everyday routine—Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and others. This integration aims to unleash creativity, enhance productivity, and elevate your skills. In addition, Microsoft is introducing a completely novel experience: Business Chat. This feature spans the LLM, Microsoft 365 apps, and your data, encompassing your chats, calendar, meetings, emails, documents, and contacts. Business Chat empowers you to accomplish tasks previously beyond reach. By providing natural language prompts such as “Tell my team how we updated the product strategy,” it generates a status update based on the morning’s meetings, emails, and chat threads.

With Copilot, the reins are always in your hands. You have the authority to determine what to keep, alter, or remove completely. This means you can now be more creative in Word, more analytical in Excel, more communicative in PowerPoint, more constructive in Outlook, and more united in Teams.
