At MIBAR, we’ve been in the business of enterprise software for nearly three decades, and through our focus, honesty, innovation, and ability to execute, we have continued to grow year after year in this dynamic, competitive market. Today, we are proud to share with you some exciting news: MIBAR has once again been named to the Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs for 2018, considered to be the “who’s who” of value added resellers in terms of revenue.

Bob Scott’s Insights Top 100 VARs

Bob Scott is a well-known name in the mid-market financial software community, who has been providing articles and email newsletters with insights for and about the community since 1997. Considered to be one of the leading voices in the reseller marketplace, in 2011 he began an annual ranking of the top VARs in terms of revenue. Complementing the innovation-based VAR Star List, this revenue-based list provides an important look into the growing and changing ERP industry.

How the Top 100 Are Chosen

2018 Bob Scotts Top 100 VARSThe report highlights companies on size alone. Per the report:

“The ranking of the Top 100 mid-market reselling firms is based solely on annual revenue. When more than one company reported the same revenue, they are listed as tied. Few of the companies chosen or considered are public companies that report results with readily available revenue figures. […] Other revenue figures were submitted by the companies themselves.

In cases in which resellers declined to provide revenue, estimates were made. Factors utilized in estimating include the number of employees reported and the typical selling prices of the products they carry. Other publicly available sources of information were considered, and information provided for Bob Scott’s VAR Star selection last fall was also used. All companies considered carry products other than financial software, and revenue from those products is included the totals reported here.”

Why the List is Important

The list, released in June of each year, is designed for two reasons, 1) To Give VARs and their vendors “bragging rights” and 2) to help potential customers find the true leaders in the marketplace, allowing them to find a similarly-sized VAR who has the resources available to complete their implementation project.

Top Trends in the VAR Space

In addition to ranking VARs by size, the report features interviews and industry analysis from channel leaders and experts, highlighting the following trends:

  • Oracle Paving the Way for Continued NetSuite Growth and Innovation: NetSuite has always been a mainstay among top VARs, but the vendor has gained ground this year. Further, parent company Oracle is putting its clout behind the vendor, “taking care of the infrastructure, […] leaving NetSuite to concentrate on applications.”
  • Acumatica Makes Strong Showing on Top 100 VAR List: The Acumatica Partner Program continues to thrive, placing 21 VARs on the list.
  • A Faster Journey to the Cloud: Per the report, “the cloud model is moving towards making products easier to consume and that is starting to produce prepackaged versions of the cloud applications to introduce core applications at a more affordable pricing and being able to use the software sooner.” Led by innovative implementation methods like the NetSuite SuiteSuccess program, companies are able to go from zero to cloud in 100 days.
