According to Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill, Acumatica Summit is “ground zero” for the global Acumatica community.  The company’s annual event showcases new production functionality, the strategic direction of the company, and customer success stories. Over the three day event, MIBAR dove deep into Acumatica at what is arguably the best Summit yet.

As we walked through the Summit on the first morning, on our way to the keynote, we passed the Acumatica Customer showcase, which, this year, included MIBAR customer Global Beauty Care. To see a MIBAR customer showcased at the summit was pretty cool!

Afterward, we found seats at the Keynote. This year’s Keynote was at the theatre at the Cosmpolitan Hotel, and we were lucky enough to scout out some box seats on the second level. The keynote began with a presentation by Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill. He spoke about Acumatica’s acquisition by PE firm EQT Partners, which gives Acumatica access to capital and to sister company’s technology, yet also resulted in absolutely no change in strategic direction or executive leadership of Acumatica.

He also announced Acumatica’s customer count, currently over 6500.

Jon also touted Acumatica’s new integration with Big Commerce, a leading eCommerce front end platform that now integrates bi-directionally with Acumatica. Acumatica data, such as inventory and pricing for items, can now be sent up to a Big Commerce, and then orders are taken back into Acumatica.

Next, Jon reviewed the global Acumatica partner community. In addition to ISV (third party apps), Acumatica now has over 300+ VAR Partners (Including MIBAR!), through which it exclusively distributes the Acumatica platform. Because Acumatica sells and implements primarily through Value Added Resellers that take on the sales, marketing, and implementation services, Acumatica itself is thus able to dedicate itself to developing better software.

In fact, Jon touted that 75% of Acumatica’s internal staff worked in R&D, an order of magnitude greater than any of the company’s competitors. This allows Acumatica to develop deep, rich functionality that makes the platform an incredible value at its price point in the marketplace. Acumatica’s strategic direction is to focus on industry rich functionality in specified verticals, and also to develop technology leadership, outlined at keynotes on the second day.

After the keynote, the attendees broke into breakout sessions, where various different types of stakeholders attended presentations on topics related to sales, marketing, product, and development. MIBAR attended most of the product sessions, in order to get a better feel for new and coming functionality in the Acumatica platform.

The various breakout sessions included new functionality for construction, distribution, field service, manufacturing, and commerce. The new functionality expands upon the existing sophistication of the platform, and the upcoming enhancements continue to delight and show the breadth of Acumatica’s ambition in developing great software.

Day 1 ended with a party at the MGM Hakashan night club, with the Acumatica team and attendees enjoying drinks, food, and even some acrobats! MIBAR spent some time with an existing customer, an international VAR, and the Acumatica leadership team.
