If you were perusing the news section of our website, you may have noticed that we recently added a new member to the MIBAR team – as of October 10th, Michael Castro is our new engagement manager.
So, who exactly is Michael? I’m glad you asked! I sat down with Michael yesterday to ask him a few questions about his professional and personal background in an effort to shed some light on the newest member of the MIBAR team.
Where did you grow up? Coney Island, Brooklyn
How long have you been working in the technology industry? It’s been 15 wonderful years!
How old were you when you first knew you wanted to work in technology? I was about 20.
What is your favorite thing about your job (or working in technology, in general)? I really just enjoy meeting new people and learning about all the new and different businesses I get exposed to – it makes every day exciting.
What’s the most important lesson you’ve learned throughout your career? As long as I am viewed as a professional, any problem or issue can be resolved.
Who was your hero when you were growing up? Showing my age with this one, Mickey Mantle
Do you have a favorite quote? “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail,” John Wooden
Are you reading anything right now? If so, what? Joe Torres’ “Yankee Years”
Do you have a favorite book? The Gold Coast by Nelson DeMille
What’s your favorite movie? Goodfellas
What do you like to do when you’re not working? I play basketball 3 or 4 times a week to stay in shape. I enjoy dining out, movies, the beach and skiing to name a few.
Jets or Giants? Giants…Knicks, Rangers and of course, Yankees!
