Like the big things coming to NetSuite, Acumatica is bringing a lot of exciting new features in their update coming in late March. From small improvements to huge news (like the payroll module and acquisition of JAAS Software), here are just a few of the many things you can expect from Acumatica in their upcoming update:
Industry Edition Improvements
Industry editions in Acumatica have been an important way to deliver the functionality needed by unique companies. Used to make customization easy and deliver a coherent, cohesive user experience, Industry editions are one of the things that makes Acumatica unique.
Perhaps the biggest change for Acumatica came in the form of the JAAS acquisition. JAAS has long been a big part behind Acumatica’s Manufacturing Edition, and the acquisition will bring in a team of developers who is well versed in Acumatica and provide new focus on doing even more for the manufacturing solution.
Among the enhancements coming to Manufacturing Edition:
- Track production and costs with native shop floor data collection
- Advanced planning features capable-to-promise and what-if scenarios
Ecommerce: Robust Integration with BigCommerce
Part of the goal to break down silos, Acumatica had created an even tighter integration with ecommerce provider BigCommerce. This enables Acumatica customers to automate B2B and B2C by providing omnichannel sales and fulfillment with seamless back-end accounting. Paired with their already strong integrations with Magneto and Shopify delivered through ISVs, this expanded ecommerce solution will make omnichannel easier.
Naturally, the improvements to Manufacturing and Ecommerce weren’t the only improvements. Distribution firms received improvements to the warehouse management system—featuring wave and batch picking for rapid fulfillment. International firms now have more control over international depreciation rules, and the customer management module delivers improved lead qualification and contact management that links sales with production.
New Acumatica Payroll
Acumatica Payroll eliminates the cost of maintaining an interface to an external payroll. This module allows you to keep control of valuable company and employee information while providing seamless processing of employee timecards with access to detailed GL and project data. Acumatica Payroll supports salaried and hourly workers, integrated taxes and tax forms, certified wages, union wages, timecard integration, and flexible payroll periods.
Continued AI and ML Implementation
Acumatica elevates the user experience with this new release. The Acumatica Cloud xRP Platform delivers flexibility and ease of use for modern business applications. Acumatica users spend less time figuring out how to do their work and more on getting things done. One of the biggest enhancements came in the form of their AI implementation to facilitate spend management, which will make scanning easier and then learn what each receipt means when its scanned.
