How long have you worked at MIBAR?

I have worked at MIBAR since March, 1, 1999.

What do your job entail?

I started out at MIBAR as a programmer, then became the Programming manager. Shortly thereafter I held the title of Director of Technical Services until I had a spinal cord injury in 2011. My current position is that of Engagement/Project Manager. I manage the implementation team that supports our ERP solutions such as NetSuite, Acumatica, Dynamics GP, and AccountMate.

What are 3 words to describe MIBAR?

Integrity, Value, and Caring for the client.

What drew you to MIBAR originally? And how has MIBAR changed since?

I was originally in the Italian Import business and we hired MIBAR to move us off of our legacy system. Throughout that engagement I was part of the leadership team working with the MIBAR team. I had a lot of interaction with Bart at MIBAR and he recognized my passion to learn. He mentioned once in passing that if I ever wanted to consider a career change to give him a call. Well, I made that call a couple of years after the relationship with MIBAR and my former employer had ended and have been at MIBAR ever since.

What do you find the most challenging at MIBAR or about your job?

My job is ever changing and managing the multiple personalities on our staff as well as the clients we work with can be challenging. Bringing up a company on a new ERP system is not for the feint of heart and will always have challenges along the way. The key is to stay in front of the issues, set realistic expectations and over communicate.

What do you like most about MIBAR or your job?

I love that people that I work with at MIBAR. They are my 2nd family. I love that every day presents new challenges and I get to see and understand how different business process.

What has been your favorite project at MIBAR?

It is very hard to pick a favorite project as there have been so many but if I had to choose, I would say that working with Marathon over the last 10 years or so has been a lot of fun. As the manufacturer of Sabrett Hot Dogs, we took them from a single person shop where their software was outdated to Dynamics GP.  Besides the main “Original Project” we work on multiple projects each year to keep them ahead of the curve and operating to fulfill their orders 6 days a week.

What have you gained from working at MIBAR?

I think I have learned a lot of business acumen by working with Bart and watching his approach to running the business and what it takes to be a leader. I have gained knowledge and confidence in a field that I never thought I would be working in. I love the teamwork and sharing of successes that we have at MIBAR. It takes the whole team to succeed!
