As the demand for quality, kosher wines has increased, Royal Wines has experienced incredible growth that their aging, legacy UNIX based computer system could no longer keep up with. Chief among their legacy systems deficiencies was the:

• Poor order processing functionality, which lacked integration, mobility, reliability, and automation

• Inability to deliver real-time order, inventory & dynamic pricing information

• Insufficient reporting

The mobile order processing module that Royal was using could not be relied upon because it sent multiple copies of the same order. In order for Royal’s outside sales force to enter an order, they either had to wait until they had access to their computer system or rely on phone based communication, both of which were subject to errors, delays and frustration. Without access to up to date, real-time pricing and inventory information, their sales force had to act on stale, unreliable information.
